Overview

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our growing technology team at Gramercy Networks. The ideal candidate is likely to have worked within the telecommunications industry and be able to demonstrate a successful history in network architecture, design, maintenance and monitoring. We are seeking highly self-motivated multi-taskers who are comfortable working under pressure with minimal supervision.

What you’ll do as a Senior Network Engineer:

  • Identify enhancements to existing configurations, technologies or procedures to improve performance and reduce bottlenecks
  • ‪Evaluate current/new technology and network providers on an ongoing basis to ensure that their infrastructure remains stable, competitive and cost effective
  • ‪Day-to-day support of network and application environments
  • Assist in hardware/software evaluation and offer recommendations on purchases
  • ‪Ability to multitask and meet numerous business goals
  • ‪Document and focus on automation of all our day-to-day operations

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with Juniper/Arista/Cisco
  • ‪Experience with Cisco or Juniper routers, switches, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VoIP, wireless LAN/WAN, Multicast, QoS, STP, VTP and VLAN’s; Network Security (IPSec Tunnels), Suite B security concepts, Routing Protocols like OSPF, EIGRP, BGP and Gateway Redundancy Protocols like HSRP, VRRP, and GLRP
  • Multiple years of experience in maintaining internet security and actively managing VPN connections
  • ‪Extensive knowledge of Exchange network topologies
  • Strong knowledge of low latency Exchange implementations
  • ‪Experience in IP telephony, multi campus video conferencing, Hoot-n-holler, instant messaging
  • ‪Familiarity designing a diverse path/low latency WAN utilizing multiple vendors
  • ‪Experience designing and maintaining CWDM/DWDM networks

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Juniper (preferred) network devices like routers, switches, firewalls etc.
  • ‪Certifications - JNCIP, CCNP, CCSP, JNCIS, etc.
  • Understanding of setting up medium to large scale IP network infrastructure to support tactical systems
  • Knowledge of configuring VoIP systems like Avaya Aura, Cisco Unified Communications Manager
  • ‪Knowledge with documentation of engineering artifacts in support of lab configurations and site installations
